Devlog#7: Enhancing Gameplay, fixing the laws of physics and World Building

In our ongoing journey of developing "NaturesAscendancy," we've made significant strides in both gameplay and world building, bringing the game world to life in new and exciting ways.

Nanite Technology Integration:

One of the standout additions to our development process is the seamless integration of Nanite technology. Nanite has proven to be a game-changer, not only reducing GPU usage but also giving us a staggering 100 percent performance increase in our game. This remarkable technology allows us to create highly detailed assets with minimal impact on system resources.

Story-Driven Cave Exploration:

We've been hard at work crafting an immersive and story-driven experience for players. After Aya's dramatic crash landing, players will now have the opportunity to explore a cave directly adjacent to the crash site. This cave serves as a pivotal point in the narrative, introducing players to the mysteries of the alien planet and setting the stage for a captivating adventure. The visual and audio elements in this cave are meticulously designed to immerse players in the game world and keep them engaged in the unfolding story.

Terrain Challenges:

In our journey to make the game world as impeccable as possible, we stumbled upon a peculiar terrain problem near the cave entrance. While it looked picture-perfect, our character Aya had other ideas when it came to walking on it. But don't fret! We've been hard at work experimenting with unconventional solutions, like adding a second layer. UE5 sometimes works in mysterious ways, and we've managed to fix a significant chunk of the issue. Rest assured, we're committed to providing a seamless gaming experience, even if we have to get a bit creative along the way!

Upcoming Upgrades:

In the pipeline are plans to upgrade our system with additional RAM and storage to accommodate the demands of Unreal Engine 5 fully. This upgrade will not only improve our development workflow but also bolster our ability to create even more stunning visuals and immersive gameplay elements.

Release Date Update:

We'd like to keep our community informed that while we've made excellent progress, the recent technical challenges and necessary upgrades may slightly affect our release timeline. However, we're dedicated to catching up and ensuring that the quality of the game is not compromised. We'll keep you updated on any changes in the release date.

And thats why, we'd like to share some important wisdom from the world of game development: We'd much rather disregard the release date than deliver an unstable, buggy mess of a game. With a sprawling 1500x1500 map to explore, the last thing we want is for you to encounter trolls under bridges or dragons in the sky (unless they're meant to be there). So, rest assured, we're working tirelessly to ensure that "NaturesAscendancy" is not only good looking but also bug-free and ready for your adventures as we aim to deliver a finished product.

That's all for this devlog update! We're grateful for your continued support, and we're excited to share more about "NaturesAscendancy" in the near future. Stay tuned for further developments, and as always, feel free to reach out with any questions or comments. Thank you for being part of this journey!
